Decision Compass is a product of Naked Lobsters. This policy explains what information Decision Compass collects when you use the App or Guided service at decisioncompass.io, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have over it.
Decision Compass is owned and operated by Naked Lobsters, a partnership operated by Iain Saunders and Caroline Grubb. Naked Lobsters is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Location: Crowcombe, Taunton, United Kingdom.
Email: [email protected]
Decision Compass is built around a principle of minimal identity data: we never ask you to create an account, and we never store your name or email address ourselves. Where identity data is needed (for payment, or to send you your Decision Compass record), it is held by our payment and CRM provider, Funnel Launch. See Section 4.
Your decision content: everything you type into a Decision Compass session — the situation you're facing, the gains and costs of each option, the values that matter to you, your decision and your stated reasoning, and the actions you commit to. We store this exactly as you write it, without anonymising or editing it. This is intentional: reflecting your own words back to you is central to how the tool works, and every AI-generated reflection in your session is built from your verbatim input.
Special category data: because you're free to write about whatever is actually driving your decision, your responses may incidentally include details about your health, relationships, family circumstances, or other sensitive matters. We do not ask for this directly, and it is your choice whether to include it. Where you do, we process it on the basis of your explicit consent, given via the notice shown before you start a session. (see Section 3).
Payment confirmation: we record that a payment was completed and which product it relates to. We do not store your card details, and Decision Compass's own database never holds payment amounts, coupon codes, or card data — these are handled entirely by Stripe via Funnel Launch.
Product usage data: first-party, operational analytics such as which step you reached, how many times you've returned, and how long a session took. This is used to run and improve the product and is not shared for marketing or advertising purposes.
Referral & campaign data: if you arrive via a tracked link, we pass through the campaign reference (UTM parameters, referral ID) so it can be attributed on the marketing side. Decision Compass itself does not analyse this data.
Decision Compass uses AI language models (currently Anthropic's Claude models, accessed through our hosting provider, Replit) to help structure and reflect back what you've written. For example, distilling your initial brain dump into a short reflection, generating a summary of your trade-off, and producing the written sections of your final Decision Compass record.
This processing is automated. No human reviews or approves the AI's output before you see it, and the AI does not tell you what to decide — it reorganises and reflects your own words back to you.
The content of your session is sent to Anthropic's API to generate these reflections. Anthropic processes this data under its own commercial API terms; API inputs are not used to train Anthropic's models by default.
Decision Compass is not a substitute for professional advice, and no automated output should be treated as a diagnosis, prediction, or recommendation. See the Terms of Use.
Your rights: you can ask us to explain how an AI output was generated, contest it, or request that a human at Naked Lobsters review it, by emailing [email protected].
We share the minimum data necessary with the following providers to operate Decision Compass:
Funnel Launch (GoHighLevel): holds your name, email address, and payment/contact record; sends you your Decision Compass PDF and any secure access link by email; and processes marketing communications, if you've opted in.
Stripe: processes your payment, via Funnel Launch's checkout. We never see or store your full card details.
Anthropic: processes your session's free-text content to generate the AI reflections described in Section 3.
Replit / Neon (hosting & database): hosts the Decision Compass application and database, which runs on encrypted-at-rest infrastructure.
Decision Compass's App and Guided flows do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Meta/Instagram tracking pixels — see Section 6. Our public marketing pages (outside the paid product itself) may use separate analytics tools, governed by the cookie notice shown on those pages.
We keep your data only as long as it's needed to provide the service, or as long as you'd reasonably expect us to hold a personal record you've paid for
| Data Category | Retention | |
|---|---|---|
| A completed, paid Decision Compass session | Retained as your personal record, indefinitely, unless you ask us to delete it | |
| Aggregated usage/analytics data (not free text) | Retained for up to 24 months | |
| An abandoned or incomplete session | Automatically deleted after 30 days | |
| Backups | Rotated within a 35-day window, so a deletion request takes effect everywhere within that time |
Depending on your location, you have the following rights over your data:
Access & portability: request a copy of the data we hold on you, including your Decision Compass session content.
Correction & deletion: ask us to correct or delete your data, including a completed session's record.
Withdraw consent: opt out of marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in our emails, sent through Funnel Launch.
Non-discrimination (US/CCPA): we will never provide a different quality of service because you've exercised your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].
Within the Decision Compass App and Guided product, we use a single first-party identifier stored in your browser to keep track of your session and recognise you if you return. This is essential to how the product works and is not shared with advertisers or used for cross-site tracking. We do not run Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or advertising pixels inside the paid product.
If you visit our public marketing pages before starting a session, a separate cookie notice may apply there.
Decision Compass is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be published at decisioncompass.io/privacy.
